Policy & Advocacy

ACSA is committed to being a strong and effective advocate with a persuasive national voice that leads the national aged care agenda. We are at the forefront, representing and supporting members before government and in the media.

ACSA’s role as the peak body for aged care involves being proactive in adopting policy positions to represent members and influence the future sustainability of our sector.

We consult and work closely with our members in ACSA’s strategic policy development, to understand their current situation and environment, as well as potential future needs, to provide quality care to older Australians. We work across state and federal governments, government departments, and industry groups, as well as contributing to social debate and media commentary on key issues around ageing, residential and home care, and retirement villages.

Our work with state and federal government identifies and seeks to address member or systemic issues and proactively and effectively respond to the activity of Governments, Opposition and minor parties and independents.

ACSA’s views and positions on a wide range of aged care issues are sought by a range of stakeholders across policy makers and governments. We also work collaboratively with other aged care provider and consumer peaks to represent the unique position of not-for-profit providers.
