The Department of Education, Skills and Employment has released a Request for Expression of Interest for the new National Priority Fund. The Request for Expression of Interest is available on AusTender (reference EOI NPF 2021-25) and you can visit the Current ATM view here.

The Australian Government announced in the 2021-22 Budget, that funding of up to $50 million will be made available under the National Priority Fund over four years from 2021-2025, providing $12.5 million per year. The fund will support the expansion and extension of the Local Jobs Program and help support Australia’s economic and social recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Funding will be available for innovative initiatives that address structural and other barriers to attract, recruit and retain Australian job seekers and workers in employment and/or complement job creation initiatives.

Entities such as industry groups, business peak bodies, employers, community groups, for-profit and not-for-profit organisations, and local governments are encouraged to respond to the REOI and in doing so, capitalise on the opportunity to design and deliver an initiative to address structural and other barriers to employment for Australian job seekers.

The department anticipates that a successful initiative will be of a value between $50,000 and up to $1 million (GST inclusive).

The Request for Expressions of Interest (REOI) will close 16 August 2021.

An information session is being held on the Request for Expression of Interest on Tuesday 3 August at 11.30am (AEST). If you would like to attend, please register here.
