Overview

WHY SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING IS CRUCIAL FOR AGED CARE PROVIDERS

Why aged care providers should care about social media

The number of aged Australians using Facebook has doubled in the last six yearswith the number of Australian Facebook users aged 45 to 65 increasing from 104,000 (14 per cent) in 2010 to 950,000 (30 per cent) in 2016.

The numbers paint a clear picture: your customers are using social media more than ever before and this trend will continue to grow. However, while aged care customers are increasingly using social media, KPMG research found that the industry itself is still learning how to make effective use of this technology and has historically avoided engagement due to concerns around staff skills, budget and the belief that activity increases risk.
