National Manager Events (Sydney based)

About the role

Reporting to the Executive Director Membership and Corporate Partnerships the successful candidate will have responsibilities such as:

  • Provide leadership to the national Events and Education team by creating an environment of leadership, having a safe space for the team, and creating opportunities for individuals to develop their skills.
  • Work with Senior Management Team colleagues and staff across the organisation to create and deliver a high quality and diverse calendar of events and educational programs that meet member needs nationally, enhance the image of ACSA and provide professional development and networking opportunities for attendees.
  • Engage with external providers OR deliver in-house accredited training to give members access to the best courses in the industry.
  • Work with the Manager Corporate Partnerships to develop commercial relationships for event specific sponsorship opportunities.
  • Maintaining an aged care leadership role among peak employer groups through effective and highly regarded events and educational programs.
  • Keep abreast of the events and education industry nationally (both within and external to the aged and community care sector), ensuring ACSA events are competitive against other events and deliver the professional development members need.

About you

A well-rounded and highly organised professional, who demonstrates expertise in administrative coordination and support.

Self-motivated with a positive can-do attitude, you will have well developed communication skills, and be able to work collaboratively with your team.

Exceptional written and oral communication and presentation skills are a must.

You will hold:

  • Tertiary qualifications in event management or a related field are highly desired
  • 1-3 years' experience in the event industry
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Highly developed budgeting, planning and organising skills
  • Superior communication and influencing skills, including on the telephone, written correspondence and marketing material
  • Excellent leadership and management experience
  • Exceptional abilities to develop and maintain relationships and promote effective networks
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent personal presentation and professional image

Policy Development Officer (Residential / Housing and Homecare)

About the role

Reporting to the Manager – Policy & Member Advice, the Policy Development Officer is responsible for:

  • Identifying and managing policy, project and resource development on a wide range of issues to support and advance the interests of the aged and community care industry.
  • Research and develop industry policy statements and position/discussion papers on key issues in the officers’ specialist area.
  • Identify and act on opportunities for advancing ACSA as the key industry peak body in consultation with the Manager – Policy and Member Advice.

About you

A well-rounded and highly experienced professional, who demonstrates expertise in social policy and research will ensure your success in this role.  Knowledge is required of the aged care industry and specific expertise in home care.

Self-motivated with a positive can-do attitude, you will have well developed people management skills, be able to delegate effectively and create a positive working environment for your team. 

A consultative leader you will demonstrate the ability to work cross-functionally and possess outstanding stakeholder management skills. 

Exceptional written and oral communication and presentation skills are a must.

You will hold:

  • A tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in a social policy or research related field.
  • Demonstrate experience in Aged care and specific expertise in home care.
  • Experience in working in a policy team environment and collaborating with other functional teams.
